The Check Image Module captures proof items
as they pass through the transport. These
images can be included in statements, NSF
notices and reports.
The proofing process is streamlined even
further with the ability to zoom-in on an image
to better read an amount or transaction code
instead of retrieving the actual item.
Using images to balance is fast and simple
since they can be enlarged and split so the rear
image is viewed with the front. You can also
take an item that was processed upside-down
and fix it without having to re-process.
Statements can be printed with 2, 4, 8, 10,
12 or 18 images per page, and may include
checks only or checks and deposits.
There is also an option to print front and rear
images or front images only. Users can view
and perform text searches on any statement
without the requirement to print.
With the E-Mail Delivery Module, image
statements and notices can be e-mailed,
which eliminates postage costs.
Check 21 Image Module
Standard Features
FED Inclearings
With the FED Inclearings feature, you can
process electronic image files from the FED
based on the COF 1.3 format and the X9.37
(FIIS) standard.
This feature not only helps banks comply with
the Check 21 Act, it enables them to process
incoming cash-letter items in a fraction of
the time traditionally required (without
even turning on their sorters.) It works by
processing the MICR and image information
downloaded from a Federal Reserve or
another image exchange.
Not only does the FED Inclearings feature
extend the life of a sorter, it also eliminates
delays or problems caused by jams and
double-document feeds.
Electronic Cash Letters
In addition to giving you the ability to accept
image inclearings, the Image Processing
software allows you to produce an electronic
outgoing cash letter file for submission
to the FED (or another exchange that you
may choose).
|
Based on your requirements, the outgoing
cash letter can be sent entirely as an electronic
file, or part electronic and part physical.
With the convenience of producing an image
file comes the burden of having to produce
Image Replacement Documents (IRDs). We can
relieve most of that burden through the use of
our All Items Research tool. Search for any item
in our system and an IRD can be printed with
the click of a button.
Research
For image searches, we have two research
viewers built-in -- All Items Research. We also
have a statement and NSF notice viewer.
The All Items Research viewer provides quick
and easy access to proof data even before
it's submitted to the core system. Filters are
available for generic or detailed research.
With All Items Research, you can display,
print and e-mail information from within
the research screen (including images). The
statement and notice viewers display images
and text information.
Using the Transaction Re-Creator function,
a user can select any item displayed in the
search results and view each additional item
that went with it to create the transaction. An
exception item search is also very convenient,
returning any or all exceptions based on
non-posted or re-posted item descriptions. It
does this by taking full advantage of our host
interface and using non-posted and re-posted
items reports to automatically update item
status information in the Image Processing
system. With the addition of the Signature
Card Module, either a cropped image of the
signature or the entire card can be viewed with
the customer's check for signature verification
purposes.
All Items Research can produce IRDs for
truncated items just as simply as printing
any other research results. Each IRD can be
printed with an overlay for various reasons/
return codes. The true convenience is that IRD
printing requires no more than the purchase of
IRD paper and MICR toner.
The All Items Research viewer provides
quick and easy access to items and utilizes
an account number driven search filter that
is tailored toward customer service. You can
view, print and e-mail information and images.
Signatures can also be compared from the
Signature Card Module.

Report Options
Standard Reports
CSPI's Image Processing solution offers a variety of
standard reports, any of which can be automatically
generated at the end of the day. You have the option
to view the report on-screen, send it to a file or
print. Any report that lists individual items (such as
Reject Repair Journal or Modified Item Pull) can be
printed with their corresponding images.
Many of these reports are useful to find balancing
errors, if any should arise. The End of Day/Run
Totals report is used to check for balance against
the totals on the host system. It shows total debits
and credits, as well as totals by application (e.g. GL,
DDA, SAV).
Standard reports include:
Cash Letter
Batch Balancing Report
End of Run/Day Totals
Modified Item Pull
Master Transaction Listing
Reject Repair Journal
Pocket Totals
Selector Totals
User-Defined Reports
CSPI's Image Processing system gives users the
ability to create their own reports based on specific
needs. The reports can be accessed at any time to
retrieve required data.
Examples include General Ledger, Teller Totals,
High Dollar and Endpoint Analysis reports. Any
report that lists individual items can be printed with
their corresponding images. Samples are available
upon request.
Creating a User-Defined Report is simple and quick.
A setup wizard walks the user through the process.
Once created, reports can be copied and modified
to become new reports. For example, a Teller
Cash report can be created for Teller 1 and then
copied for Tellers 2, 3 and so on. Each newly copied
report only needs an account number or tran code
changed to match each teller.
