Statement and Notice Viewers allow users to
perform text searches on image statements
and notices without having to print them.
With the addition of the E-Mail Delivery
Module, image statements and notices can be
e-mailed, eliminating the need for postage.
Reporting
Standard proof reports are built into the
Check Image Module. Standard reports
include balancing reports, modified item
reports, pocket totals and more.
User Defined Reports can also be generated.
These reports are built quickly and easily with
the help of a wizard that steps you through
the process in a clear, concise fashion. You
can view a report on-screen, click on a
particular item and instantly retrieve the
image associated with that item.
Applies to Large Transports:
Bulk File Sorting
The Bulk File feature allows items to be sorted
based on files imported from the host that
contain cycle information. This will split out
the bank's ONUS checks into their respective
cycles. Special cycles can be created to pull
checks for specific accounts to be returned
with statements.
Exception Item Pull
This feature pulls exception items from the
daily work and splits them out to their own
pocket according to the exception type
(i.e. Non-Sufficient Funds, Two Signatures
Required and High Dollar Amount).
Fine Sorting
Fine Sorting can sort documents according
to any MICR field. This allows any item to be
sorted by account number, check number
or amount.
There are two types of fine sorts -- a directed
fine sort and a pre-pass fine sort. A directed
fine sort uses a file, either built by the host
system or a database from the Image
Processing system, as a reference table to
sort the items. A pre-pass fine sort first reads
all items to be sorted; then builds the sort
reference table based on those items only.
Security
Security administration in CSPI's Image
Processing system has everything you need
to satisfy your internal needs and those
required by auditors. A system administrator
can add, remove and manage users similar
to a Windows server. Users and groups
can be created with specific users having
administrative control over their own groups.

Users select their own case-sensitive, alphanumeric
passwords which can be set to
expire after a set number of days. Security
logs can be used to record activity on an
individual user/login basis.
Additional Modules
The following modules can be added to
the Image Processing system to enhance its
functionality and tailor it to fit your needs.
CAR/LAR Module
The CAR/LAR Module employs a state-of-the-art
recognition system to "read" document
images in order to fill gaps within the MICR
information. Single-field recognition can
be used for dollar amounts. Multi-field
recognition can be used for amounts,
tran-codes, account numbers and other
information. In the end, the only items that
need to be encoded are those physically sent
with the cash letter. With the Power Encode
Module, these items are passed through
the transport a second time, encoded
automatically and placed in their respective
transit pockets.
Power Encode Module
Typically used in conjunction with CAR/LAR,
the Power Encode Module automatically
encodes transit items in a second pass
after the initial image capture. As items are
encoded, they are placed in their respective
transit pockets, ready to go to the FED.
Branch Capture Module
The Branch Capture Module enables a
single institution to have capture devices at
multiple locations. Items are captured at the
branch level using compact capture devices
(e.g. Unisys Source NDP) or full size transports.
There are two methods for running branch
capture: (1) capturing MICR and images at
each branch and updating the central server
after the business day has ended; or (2)
capturing MICR and images at each branch
and updating the central server real-time via
a high-speed connection.
In the first scenario, the Branch Capture
Module is used in conjunction with the
Branch Download feature which imports the
remote data to the central server at the main
site. As this is done, data from all locations
is merged into a single database, where it is
made available for research to any authorized
user on the network.

Browser Research
The Browser Research Module gives you the a
bility to do image research through the network
or across the Internet, without having to install
client software.
The cost of a digital data line, plus additional
equipment required to support a wide area
network, may not be feasible for a small remote
branch. The Browser Research Module allows
the branch office to research from any PC with an
Internet connection and standard web browser.
This thin-client configuration will reduce the cost
and labor required to maintain a client application
and also allows a remote branch to better serve
its customers.
Browser Research, like All Items Research, is fast
and simple. The software allows you to find any
proof item with a single field of MICR information or
a combination of fields. Plus, you have the option to
search a range of data from any field. For example,
you can run a single query for ONUS items, with
a tran code in the range of 330 to 334, an account
number between 10041 and 10051 AND any amount
above $5000. From this query, all matching items
and images will be returned to the Search
Results screen.
Search results can be sorted by any MICR field,
sequence number or date. On the Search Results
page, you can select a record and click on the
camera icon to view the corresponding image. A
tool bar allows you to zoom in, zoom out, flip and
rotate the image for each item.
Similar to All Items Research, Signature Cards
are also accessible from the Browser Research
screen. Click on the Signature Card icon and a
window will pop up containing the scanned image
of signature(s) that correspond to a specific
account number.
